On This Month's Fear Candy
All the evil, destruction and chaos on this month's CD
CD compiled by Miranda Yardley & Amy Harris
Artwork by Johan de Jager

1. BEHEMOTH
'Blow Your Trumpets Gabriel' taken from the Nuclear Blast album 'The Satanist'

The Polish giants are back with a thunderous, full-throated vengeance. This lead single is a great taste of what to expect from this album, marking the beginning of a new period for the band. A different sound? Yes. Will you love it? Absolutely.

2. GRAND MAGUS
'Triumph And Power' taken from the Nuclear Blast album 'Triumph And Power'

The title track from the Swedish rifflords' new album will have you reaching for your sword and drinking horn. Great fun, insanely catchy and, predictable, metal as a Viking beer and belching fire. Welcome back, Grand Magus.

3. SHRAPNEL
'Braindead' taken from the Candlelight album 'The Virus Conspires'

This five-man wrecking crew breathe new life into thrash metal with this high energy track from their debut album. The UK underground's been buzzing about this lot for a while - see if the wait has been worth it.

4. MAYAN
'Faceless Spies (edit)' taken from the Nuclear Blast album 'Antagonise'

Dutch symphonic progressive death metallers give us this epic track that ticks all the right boxes completely fucking bonkers - in the best possible way, obviously. Melody, destruction, roars, singing… it's all here.

5. CORRUPT MORAL ALTAR
'Gin Dreams' taken from the Baitin' The Trap/Dead Chemists EP 'Whiskey Sierra'

Corrupt Moral Altar have Shane Embury as a fan, and cite their genre as "Slow. Regret. Drums. Drink. Guitar. Riff. Denial. Vocals. Depression. Bass. Fast. Desparation." We can see where they're coming from.

6. BASEMENT TORTURE KILLINGS
'Kept In A Hole' taken from the Grindscene album 'A Night Of Brutal Torture'

A band who are obsessed with murderers and brutal death fucking metal give us this relentless track that will make you feel as if you've been kept in a hole. In a good way, honest.

7. NECROSIS
'Congenital Abnormality' taken from the self-released album 'Catatonic Psychosis'

Hailing from Bristol, these lads don't hold back with this ear crushing display of brutal death metal (did the name give the genre away?). Ones to watch.

8. RANNOCH
'The Forgotten' taken from the Eulogy album 'Between Two Worlds'

No strangers to Tez, these progressive death metallers are back. After making an impression at Bloodstock, they promise thundering drums and muscular bass on their latest album.

9. TALANAS
'Sister Damnable' taken from the Eulogy album 'Asylum'

We take a breather to remind ourselves that extreme doesn't have to mean in-your-face. Talanas create tingles with this acoustic track, but they slay when plugged in too. Check them out.

10. CALIBAN
'Devil's Night' taken from the Century Media album 'Ghost Empire'

A no-holds-barred track from the German destroyers, complete with screams, roars and relentless riffs contrasted with clean vocals. Meaty.
www.Facebook.com/CalibanOfficial

11. PRIMITAI
'Scream When You See Us (feat. Richie Faulkner)' taken from the self-released album 'Rise Again'

These UK heavy metallers continue to go from strength to strength with their impressive second album. This track featuring Richie from a small band you might know of called Judas Priest.

12. DRIPBACK
'Rest With The Dead' taken from the 4Family album 'Failed Futures'

The London troublemakers have finally got their debut album out and ready to shock. Turn the volume up and prepare for the sound of being fucking pissed off.
www.Facebook.com/Dripback

13. ENTHRALLMENT
'Tool Of Suicide' taken from the Rebirth The Metal/Grindhead album 'The Voice Of Human Perversity'

These Bulgarian death metallers have their feet firmly planted in the '90s and have no intentions of changing. It works for them though, as you'll hear on this guttural offering.
www.Facebook.com/Enthrallment

14. EXTREME OD
'Contaminate' taken from the self-released album 'Contaminate'

Groove laden with crushing brutality is the best way to describe these metalheads from the Midlands. With appearances at some UK festivals this year lined up, they are out to impress.

15. THE LEVIATHAN
'Panopticon' taken from the self-released album 'In Darkness It Crawls'

Combining atmospherics with equal measures of extremity and groove, this band bring the noise in the heaviest way. Prepare to be crushed. Not to be confused with the USBM band, oviously.

Somit gibt es also häufig angebliche Treffer.
