Lobi Traore, singer and songwriter. -- Here's a guy who comes from the Bambara empire of Segu, yet his early musical influences include John Lee Hooker and Bob Dylan. This tune features blues-guitar picking, some harmonica, and a distinctly African sound.
9. My Home Is In The Delta - 3:57
Muddy Waters (aka McKinley Morganfield), singer and songwriter. -- Muddy Waters -- The Mojo Man -- is one of the most important figures in the history of Delta Blues. May be better known for his classic tunes: Got My Mojo Working, Baby Please Don't Go, and You Shook Me (covered by Led Zeppelin). His blues sound pretty much sums up the sense of what life was like in the economically depressed South. A stripped-down Mississippi sound, very simple percussion, with powerful vocals, where Waters wails about leaving the life he lived in Chicago behind. Have Mercy! -- A great country Blues tune.
10. Standing In My Doorway Crying - 4:37
Jessie Mae Hemphill, singer and songwriter. A droning, repetitive blues-guitar with some foot tambourine and ankle bells that sound like Native American music (Jessie Mae Hemphill's great grandfather was a Choctaw Indian fiddler). Slow, hypnotic, and dripping with Mississippi blues.

Baba Djan Kaba, singer and songwriter. -- A pretty tune from a performer from the country of Guinea. A slow, melodic tune featuring American blues-style guitar picking and some choral backup. African music with an American blues inflection.
12. Queen Bee - 4:35
Taj Mahal, singer and songwriter. -- Blues with a touch of Calypso and even Reggae. A great ending to a great album.
