4./5.: ROUGH POWER tracks (1995 / BOMP!)
- Original "STOOGES" Mix of Raw Power -

5./6.: first released 1995 'Iggy and the Stooges - OPEN UP AND BLEED! ' (BOMP!) [collection of the reformed Stooges' CBS rehearsal tapes from 1973 and live tracks from around the same time]
lines notes by Frank Meyer
" Few bands have been re-packaged and re-issued as many times as the legendary and influential Iggy & the Stooges. From 1972-73, the band demoed songs for their next album (the punk classic RAW POWER). While eight of these tracks were perfected and appeared on the final album, many were left unfinished and unused. These leftovers have been issued under different names over the years (some available as imports, others domestically), and more or less contained the same material. Bomp Records' 1995 compilation OPEN UP AND BLEED contained most of these tracks, making it one of the more complete collections of the bunch.

Comprised of demos, live material and rehearsals, OPEN UP AND BLEED proves that many of these leftovers were worthwhile. The sound is of varying quality (lo-fi throughout), with the best compositions being the title track, "Johanna," "She Creatures of the Hollywood Hills," "Head On," and "I Got Nothing." With better sonics, the material would easily be on par with the Stooges officially released albums, but by purchasing OPEN UP AND BLEED, you won't need to get another Stooges compilation--nearly all of their best outtakes are here. BOMP's Stooges archive tracks 'The Iguana Chronicles' / "The Detroit Rehearsals and more"
released October 16, 2001 'IGGY and The STOOGES - WILD LOVE'
Liner Note Author: Greg Shaw.
Although Bomp Records has been issuing Stooges live recordings and demos for some time now (including such titles as ROUGH POWER, CALIFORNIA BLEEDING, I'M SICK OF YOU, YEAR OF THE IGUANA, etc.), the 2001 release WILD LOVE: THE DETROIT REHEARSALS & MORE is one of the more interesting releases thus far. Comprised of 13 tracks that stretch to over an hour in length, the album features songs demoed from around the time of their 1973 classic RAW POWER, mixing originals with covers and impromptu jams.

Longtime Stooges fans will have heard some of the material on previous import collections ("Wild Love," "Pin Point Eyes," "Til the End of the Night"), but the majority of the selections have never been issued before. Standouts include "Hey Baby," "I Come From Nowhere," and a deconstructed cover of the Cream tune "I'm So Glad," which features just Iggy Pop on vocals and James Williamson on guitar. For the longtime Stooges collector, WILD LOVE contains several essential selections.
Here we find the Stooges in rehearsal, messing around with songs by Bo Diddley, Bob Dylan, Cream & the Paul Butterfield Blues Band. We hear the beginnings of songs that never went any further, like 'Old King Live Forever', 'I Come From Nowhere' or 'Wild Love', which had as much potential as any of their best material. Much of this material has never been heard before, in any form, as it's been buried in unmarked tapes in the Bomp vaults. In addition, we've included a few songs that have been out on unauthorized European releases, but the versions here are either completely different, or noticeably better in quality.

Somit gibt es also häufig angebliche Treffer.
