Formed in 1967, Fleetwood Mac grew out of the late 1960s British blues boom. At that time, they were led by guitarist Peter Green. The early incarnation of the band was a successful act and achieved a UK number one with all-time classic instrumental Albatross.
It was not until 1975, and after a myriad series of line-up changes, that the halcyon years for Fleetwood Mac finally dawned. Fleetwood Mac suddenly became a more rock-oriented act which featured the classic line-up of Mick Fleetwood, John McVie, Christine McVie, Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks.
