DANIEL LANOIS - HERE IS WHAT IS - DVD SYNOPSIS:
This DVD is a sonic journey that captures the art of making a record by one of the most distinctive producers of our time. Directed by Adam Volick, Adam Samuels and Lanois, the film offers viewers a rare chance to see Lanois at work behind a soundboard. The film opens up with a timeless piano performance by Garth Hudson, one of Canada's finest pianists. Lanois then journeys from Toronto to Los Angeles to Shreveport, LA where he joins Brian Blade's father at the Zion Baptist Church for a roaring rendition of 'This May Be The Last Time.' The film also journeys with Lanois to Morocco where he and mentor Brian Eno reminisce and record U2 in a stunning courtyard.

HERE IS WHAT IT IS is a documentary that charts the making of Daniel Lanois's sixth solo album. The album was recorded in various studios across the world and features a number of special guest performers. Director Adam Volick travelled with Lanois during recording, capturing the musician as he performed in a variety of unusual locations. Guest appearances by Garth Hudson, Brian Blade, Eno, U2, Willie Nelson, Emmylou Harris, Aaron Neville, Billy Bob Thornton and Sinead O’Connor.

Ganz häufig ist es der Fall, dass auf dem Frontcover ein Foto oder eine Grafik eines Fotografen oder Künstlers genutzt wird, was dann nur mit dem Namen der Band und dem Titel des Albums versehen wurde. Das ursprüngliche Foto/Kunstwerk ist somit immer noch sehr prominent zu sehen. Die Abmahner nutzen zumeist automatisierte Prozesse, die das Netz nach unlizensierten Nutzungen der Werke ihrer Mandanten durchsuchen und dabei Abweichungen bis zu einem gewissen Prozentgrad ignorieren. Somit gibt es also häufig angebliche Treffer. Obwohl das Foto/Kunstwerk von den Plattenfirmen oder Bands ganz legal für die Veröffentlichung lizensiert wurde, ist dies den Abmahnern egal, ganz oft wissen die ja nicht einmal, was für eine einzelne Veröffentlichung abgemacht wurde. Die sehen nur die angebliche Copyright-Verletzung und fordern die dicke Kohle.
