06 A SECRET RIVER - Blinding Light Sweden's A Secret River bonded over their love of Dream Theater and Spock's Beard at school. It wasn't long before they were writing music with a focus on harmonies and memorable choruses. Still in their early phase they hope to complete the group, and more recordings, soon.

08 METALLIC TASTE OF BLOOD - Fist Full Of Flies With P-Tree's Colin Edwin - in the gang, progressive dub and free jazz make a fuzzy jam of bleeping, buzzing textures. Drummer Pándi came with their name, though as far as we know he isn't a vampire.

11 ABANDONED STARS - Follow Your Heart An Italian, a Frenchman and two Scots walk into a band ... the result is Abandoned Stars, from Edinburgh. Using all that they've learnt from the heavy proggers like Dream Theater, Opeth and Kamelot, they've crafted an EP in anticipation of a full length later this year.

12 JIEZUBERBAND - Exoskeleton Boasting a support slot for Fish and a headline stint at Glasgow's Futures Fest, Jiezuberband have a good reason to promote their wares, including their recently completed debut. Starting as classic rockers, they've steadily made the transition to psychodelia. Trippy, man.
