01 BLACKBERRY SMOKE – Let Me Help You (Find The Door) The opening track on this month's free CD is the joyful opening track off the Atlanta/Georgia gents' forthcoming LP. It’s a bit good. We're hooked on it here. You should play it now. It’s like hitting an unexpected killer score in Scrabble, or emerging on the other side of a particularly epic, whisky-induced hangover and skipping out into the sun. Or something Iike that.

02 AARON KEYLOCK – Medicine Man At the age of 16, Keylock is really a little young to be a 'Tennessee preacher, a blackjack dealer... a medicine man' - as he sings in this bluesy fest of guitar, guts and gall. Happily it hasn't prevented him from creating a seriously cool tune. Think early Rolling Stones jamming with Rory Gallagher.

03 PREACHERS SON – Jericho Mainman Brian Hogan cut his teeth as a Session bassist, Christian festival performer, Illustrator for Disney, member of the Pussy Ass Motherfuckers… You’ll wonder how the hell he ended up with this fantastic brand of gritty, rock-swamp grooviness. But you won’t complain, because it’s really good.

04 SONS OF BILL – Road To Canaan We’ve been thoroughly taken with these guys, who are responsible for such pretty, pastoral slices of Americana as this on their new album Love and Logic. Road To Canaan is beautiful, sun-soaked stuff, with country-infused harmonies and a captivating acoustic heart.
From: Love And Logic

05 THE WANTON BISHOPS – Sleep With The Lights On Sweat-dripping, rootsy blues from... Beirut?! Yes, it is a thing. And a very good thing at that, stomping, jangling and riffing along like a party for Muddy Waters and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club (ie a party we'd heartily wish to attend). They’re brilliant live as well - very charming and interesting, without being at all pretentious.
From: Sleep With The Lights On

06 RIVAL STATE – Ace$ Sharp as hell, bursting to the eyeballs with zingy hard rock bonhomie. It’s easy to see why these guys did so well in their Kiwi homeland (2012 debut Apollo Me was a No.1 hit). This year they take on the UK, with new records looming ahead in the coming months. Don't miss out; their prospects are looking good.

07 TAX THE HEAT – Highway Home Founded on a love of traditional rhythm & blues, Tax The Heat are actually a far more contemporary rock'n’roll proposition, if this punching, highly infectious number is anything to go by. Do not be fooled by the neat suits they wear on stage; the musical reality is much more beastly.
From: Highway Home (single)

08 LITTLE FISH – Your Embrace The band name, the sweet song title… it should all point to a very gentile, plaintive band. The truth, however, is a little different; moreish crunching power chords chug out into the world, amid heavy poprock melodic sensibilities. So yes, it is actually rather sweet, albeit framed in chunky beef. Smashin'.
From: The Gordian Knot

09 PURPLE – Saturday's Song This punky Texan trio topped the 'favourite new band’ radars of a number of Classic Rock hacks in 2014. And with good reason, too. This is gloriously dirty garage-punk rock that’ll have you abandoning 'sober January' plans quicker than you can say... well, Wallflower.

10 THE DEAD SHED JOKERS – Memoirs Of Mr Bryant A quality faceful of scuzzy, groovy intensity from the rockiest echelons of Wales. They're definitely not dead, they don't live in a shed (to the best of our knowledge), and this QOTSA-tinged head thumper suggests the business of rock is no joke to them.
From: Peculiar Pastimes (EP)

11 THE PEARL HARTS – Ain’t That The Way Duos are 'in' right now, We're all pretty aware of this, on the back of the successes of Royal Blood, the Black Keys, Graveltones etc etc. Now, bringing their own alluring brand of heavy blues, we have Kirsty and Sara, aka the Pearl Harts. Cool loops and Led Zeppelin-meets-Pearl Jam hooks bode extremely well for them.
From: Skeleton Made Of Diamonds

12 DIABLO BLVD – Son Of Cain You wanted groovy metallic rock? You got groovy metallic rock – in lovely great shovelfuls. Diablo Blvd's formed in 2005, and frontman Alex Agnew used to be a major stand-up comedian in their native Belgium. These days, however, he prefers to rock the party. Grrrr…
From: Follow The Deadlights

13 FURYON – These Four Walls Moody, mighty metal Brighton-based lovers of Alter Bridge, Soundgarden and Opeth, among others. Taken from their forthcoming second LP, this encompasses tastes of all these, with nice guitar theatrics midway. Bit progressive, bit 'ard, very desirable.
From: Lost Salvation EP

14 LTNT – In The Back Of Your Mind And now for some alt.rock, in the form of grungey Londoners LTNT. ITBOYM gradually swells through pensive dynamics, melancholic refrains, a soaring climax and finally a head-spinning blast of beautifully filthy yet heartfelt fuzz.

Somit gibt es also häufig angebliche Treffer.
