Daz Nuance returns with an all-new collection of operatic arias fused with chill-out grooves
Six years after the run away success of his Gold+ selling album DIVARIA, Daz Nuance (aka Andrew Thomas Wilson) returns with DIVARIA II.
The critically acclaimed Divaria concept sees operatic arias fused with jazzy riffs and contemporary chill-out grooves. The integrity of the original aria is maintained as the arias are sung as complete melodic passages, not just sampled grabs as others have done in the past.
Volume II again features Karen Cummings (now a rich mezzo soprano), whose vocals on 'O Mio Babbino Caro', 'Pavane' and the 'Lakme' duet (in which she sings both soprano and mezzo parts) make your spine tingle. David McLeod's soft, jazzy vocal pads add contrast and warmth to the mix.
Daz Nuance himself provides a swirling back drop of vintage electric pianos, Hammond Organ, analog synthesizers and state-of-the-art digital 'gizmos' to give an effect that's a sonic feast of prismatic tone colours floating on lush liquid grooves.
Other instrumentalists of note featured on the record are Craig James on sax and clarinet, Karl Dewhurst on guitar, Christian Marsh on chromatic harmonica and Floyd Vincent on nylon string guitar.
Daz Nuance [aka. Andrew Thomas Wilson] created the first' DIVARIA' concept in 1999 the general idea was the fusion of operatic arias and contempory chill-out grooves.
