Question about corrections/'Korrekturen'..

Not sure exactly where to put this, but since my German sucks I'll start here. A moderator may move this or point to a thread that deals with this issue (I can at least read some German..)

Question: Which kinds of errors in the DB would be most important to report/correct? Reporting every little title misspelling, wrong catalogue#, wrong genre etc would maybe make too much work for the mods, so it would be good to have some kind of "top-10 worst errors" to go by, just so you know how to prioritize when reporting.

Danke!

Re: Question about corrections/'Korrekturen'..

I'm not a Mod, but I'm pretty sure that no error is unimportant.
But first you should write a Personal Message to the user who is responsible for the CD/LP.

There are only a few things that can't be changed by users and only by Mods. But I'm not sure what exactly these thing are.

Re: Question about corrections/'Korrekturen'..

It IS a lot of work for the mods (btw: the have a "mod" tag in their avatar big_smile), because everything is "important"..

But as the Colonel said: a message with your correction to the user is the first step, maybe they'll not answer, maybe they can't read your message, but then you can post it to the correction-threads.
(if you need translation of the different threads, you can ask here, I guess. wink)

Re: Question about corrections/'Korrekturen'..

Thanx for the answers. I guess I'll make up my own priorities for the time being, like double band/album entries, wrong country, wrong cover art etc...

Re: Question about corrections/'Korrekturen'..

If an album or a band is double, you must report it in the correcting threads. The normal users cannot change that.

For example:
double bands in here http://www.musik-sammler.de/forum/viewtopic.php?id=168
double albums in here http://www.musik-sammler.de/forum/viewtopic.php?id=2801
double entries of the same CD in here http://www.musik-sammler.de/forum/viewtopic.php?id=175
wrong type of record/CD in here http://www.musik-sammler.de/forum/viewtopic.php?id=265

If the country of the band is wrong - post it in here http://www.musik-sammler.de/forum/viewtopic.php?id=361
If the country of a CD or a record is wrong, you can post it to the owner of the entry. The same applies to spelling mistakes in the title or the songs, the EAN or catalogue number, the comments and the special features.
If the cover art is wrong, you can upload the correct cover and the owner approves or rejects it. You get a pm in each case.

Hope this helps.
