The Birthday Massacre
Hi wer kennt die Kanadier?? Hab gerade ihr neues Album "Walking with Strangers" durch und finde sie sind Erwachsen geworden. Wo "Violet" noch etwas quirrlig daherkam finden sich hier erwachsene Rock Songs. Besseres Songwritting und toller Gesang seitens Chibi. Anspielstips: Kill the Lights, Redstars (Fast Industrial Metal mäßig!!), Looking Glass, Remember Me....
Wer hats gehört?? Wer kennt "Violet"?? Wer kennt die Band überhaupt??

Also ich habe beide Alben von Birthday Massacre!
Wo ich Moon_light recht geben muß ist, dass sich "Walking with Strangers" wirklich erwachsen anhört! Dennoch finde ich persönlich "Violet" ein wenig besser! Bei Violet sind mehr "Knaller" Songs drauf! Ich meine Songs, die wirklich im Ohr bleiben und man immer wieder Spaß dran hat sie zu hören! Bei "Walking with Strangers" plätschert für mich alles so vor sich hin. Sicher, die Songs sind gut und besser wie manch anderes in dieser Richtung, aber im Vergleich zum ersten Alben etwas enttäuschend....Hatte mir mehr erhofft......

Kenne bisher nur die Violet von denen. OK, die Nothing & Nowhere hab ich auch schon gehört ... und evtl. werde ich mir die bei Gelgenheit auch noch selber zulegen. Ich habe Birthday Massacre aber schon mehrfach live erlebt und finde, die machen einfach Spaß. Auch kommt man nach dem Konzert recht schnell mit ihnen ins Gespräch. Eine rundum sympatische Truppe.
Die neue CD werde ich mir wohl beim Konzert (mit Staubkind zusammen) am 02.11.2007 im Roxy in Saarbrücken zulegen.

@ pygar Ja, die neue CD lohnt sich auf jeden Fall.
Auch wenn ich immer noch (nach ca. 10 mal hören) dass neue Alben nicht wirklich Top finde.... Meiner Meinung nach, ist dass Alben davor wirklch besser! Aber naja, ist natürlich Geschmackssache!! Hmm... Staubkind....*g* finde ich auch sehr toll, aber das ist wohl ein anderes Thema und passt nicht wirklich hier rein....

Am 1. November 2008 kommt die neue DVD herraus.
The Birthday Massacre Live in Hamburg Walking With Strangers
So now that the tour with MSI is over, we will be sending out some final thoughts from the band about the tour..... stay tuned. In the meantime, here are some bits and pieces.
We want to thank MSI for the chance to work with them.... it was a great opportunity to get in front of lots of people and , it was never boring!
We have changed the top of our page and put up a pictture taken by Max Michaels for Movement Magazine... if you haven't checked them out yet... take a look! The picture was taken in Florida during the tour.
The band is going to rest a bit and then get into writing the next album. The sales on our CD's have been picking up as people discover us and we really appreciate those of you who are buying in the store or, online. The numbers really give us a bit more clout to do some things we want to as far as taking our time to record. If you haven't filled out your catalog yet, think about it over the next few months.
But then.... save some Christmas money for.... are you ready for it..... The Birthday Massacre Live in Hamburg Walking With Strangers DVD in 5.1. Our European Record Company Repo is really hot on this and for them it is a labor of love. They are not only going to have a 70 minute live show of our WWS Tour, but they are adding some bonus video from our two previous European summer tours.... festival appearances. Finally, there will be some interviews with the band so that you can get to know them a bit better. We are hoping to get it out by the beginning of our next tour, around November 1st. Metropolis will be distributing the DVD in the rest of the world outside of Europe.
We have lots to do in the next few months and it is because of your support that we can do these things and concentrate on our music. Thanks to all of the people who came out to see us and thanks to all of you for your belief and support for The Birthday Massacre.

Cool!! Ist ein muß. Die Band ist für mich mit die beste Neuentdeckung der letzten Jahre. Eine Live DVD ist überfällig.
