There are as many meanings as there are assholes (means everyone has it's own) to this discussion. Some people will never understand why others buy a record that cost >100$ and also i for example will never understand why people invest money into cheap cd's.
That's not what I wanted to say. To explaine better, we discussed for example the Détente alubm "Recognise no Authority" - my near-mint-copy on vinyl costed me at most five Euro and I'm perfectly fine with it. Then again, some only are looking for CDs - fair, but even in that case I would go for the recent official re-release instead buying the high priced original issue on RR (as part of the "price killers"-serie - ha, that's a laugh).
But of course, as I said before, that's a very personal decision, which I would never question.
Don't get me wrong, I will always go for the original version (on vinyl mostly) and buy boots only to see if it's worth it.

due the fact that Sovdat posts mostly here i think we should go on writing in english.

I also don't see much sense in buying a RR Price Killers CD at a high price. But i can understand anybody who buys it at any price because it's the original and so it's ok.

But if we compare collecting records with collecting stamps, collecting records is downgraded to peanuts.
even if it has something nice inside like music, lyricsheets and so, a rare stamp like a blue Mauritius is even more expensive than any record. so are these stamp collecting guys sick? do they need a doctor? do they bother us? 3 times No.
and the same is going on with record collectors. They don't hurt someone, they spend their own money and no one elses. The only possible reason for calling them sick could be jealousy for they bought something someone cannot own.:(

Yeah, those price killers CDs are the biggest rip offs out there (well, after the 1999 Steamhammer reissue of Exciter - Violence and Force CD) with no booklet whatsoever, but as I said, to me they have some kind of a special magic, no matter if they come without the lyrics, etc., or maybe even more because of that. I was offering $120+ for price-killers copy of Evil Invaders once on ebay and I wouldn't regret it (I already have the reissue anyway), however I was outbid on the very last seconds of the auction smile .

anyhow, that Uncle Slam CD went for $200 smile

Yes, that's true, but the it was also sold for $200 earlier this year ... and I also found a copy (100% original) that went for 30 EUR few weeks ago!! I was told that this is the rarest German metal CD, so ... smile

But the seller got add. 40 - 50 dollars for 2nd album, so that makes it even smile
