1.: GLORIA
Part I: "In Excelsis Deo" (Patti Smith)
Part II: "Gloria" (Van Morrison)
Morrison / Smith:
based on the Morrison tune, but its lyrics are reinvented for the nascent punk rock movement, retaining only the chorus, and adding possibly ironic allusions to the sacred versions. It memorably begins, "Jesus died for somebody's sins / But not mine".

6.: co-written by Tom Verlaine and Smith
- Guitar by Tom Verlaine of Television

7.: LAND
Part I: "Horses" (Smith)
Part II: "Land of a Thousand Dances" (Chris Kenner, Fats Domino)
Part III: "La Mer (De)" (Smith)
- 'Land' featured the first verse of Chris Kenner's "Land of a Thousand Dances" and contains a tribute to Smith' long-time idol Arthur Rimbaud

8.: Guitar by Allen Lanier of Blue Öyster Cult
