Professionally printed mp3-CDs?

So far I've only seen this format from Russian artists, but they do exist and I was wondering if this might be added to the Tontränger-option in the future? I have a couple of those I'd like to add and not all of them are bootlegs, belive it or not wink

Re: Professionally printed mp3-CDs?

If it is an official release there should be no problem. Just mention that it is mp3 in the commentary.

My opinion wink.

Re: Professionally printed mp3-CDs?

The thing is that the Ms.de staff doesnt want the options to be too crowded with obscure formats
I guess mp3-CDs are very uncommon to get an extra option and the only ones Ive seen were all russian (Oblachnyj Kraj, right big_smile? )
If we talk about those newer bootlegs form brazil etc., we could also submit those as mp3-LP or the like (esp. those black metal boots) , which mostly stem from shitty mp3 "masters"
IMO submit as CD and a remark in the Weitere Infos field is enough

There are official MP3-CDs, e.g. Pete Namlook sells some of his releases in this format (look for order numbers starts with MP3).

yes that might be the case, haven't questioned that
but the topic whether mp3-CDs need an option on Tonträger or not

Re: Professionally printed mp3-CDs?

i once got a professional promo cd full of mp3s (>100). maybe it is useful to mark discs like that as mp3 cd but i think discs with only mp3s are not very common so its a question wether they deserve a flag in the "dateneingabe"-mask or not.

I just realized what huge amount of work adding tracklists for these thingies would be, and now I'm not really sure if it's worth the hassle hmm

I think V/A 's are the worst. Id rather have 100 song releases to type in than a V/A

Just counted and I've added 61 comps so far. I don't mind them - except for the ones w/ cyrillic letters which are a complete pain in the ass to deal with..
