The DENOVALI FESTIVAL BERLIN 2016 edition will take place at the Heimathafen Neukölln – a folk theatre in Berlin's most multi-cultural district – Neukölln. We're pleased to present you the final lineup.

Demdike Stare (uk)

::: Demdike have so far produced a trio of albums (Symbiosis, Tryptych and Elemental) loosely themed around the occult and the rich heritage of Library music. In an ongoing series of exploratory 12"s brought together under the 'Testpressing' banner appeared on Modern Love, finding Demdike heading onto more intense, brutal terrain. Inspired by everything from Industrial music to Noise, Free Jazz to House, Techno and Concrète.

Esben And The Witch (uk)

:::  "brooding intelligent gothic pop" (The Quietus) A single soul deemed this distillation of pointed beats, percussive drama and ethereal atmospherics “nightmare pop”. But the band would rather you dreamt up your own terminology, just as they have sought to establish a new sonic vocabulary through which to express their innermost emotions.

Celeste (fr)

::: Expressionistic, sophisticated, evolved, overflowing, pitch-black. Just a few words, an attempt to properly approach the metal and harccore orientated cosmos of Celeste with their monumental melodies, dark riffs, violent drums and expressive lyrics.

::: Nadja is a duo of Aidan Baker & Leah Buckareff making music that encompasses experimental/drone, ambient, shoegazer, & doom metal.

Subheim (gr)

::: Berlin-based musician Subheim composes deep electronic music with acoustic elements. His work is a collage of field recordings, slow evolving drum beats, hypnotic melodies and echoing voices. Drawing from a wide spectrum of genres and influences, from ambient, drone and post-rock to downtempo, lofi, trip hop and even techno, his sonic journeys are there for cold nights, for long train rides, for one to sink into during or after the storm, for the sleepless and the loners.

Reverb drenched piano meshes with swathes of studio noise while vocals float high above a world of textural atmosphere.

::: "25 year old multi instrumentalist James Kelly is, until now, best known as the sole permanent member and writer behind black metal outfit Altar Of Plagues, who have released two critically acclaimed albums on iconic labels Profound Lore and Candlelight. ::: Hentschel's audiovisual performance is based on the interplay of light, visuals and fog. Moreover he is supported by live drummer Lukas Baumgart and together him and Hentschel create an energy which can be heard as well as felt.

Ricardo Donoso (bra)

::: Ricardo Donoso has composed a new paradigm of ambient music, in which concrete textures and digital synthesis expand on an abstract world in constant movement & mutation. Under a chain of progressive rhythm's, cinematic textures and elegant melodicism, Donoso's work pushes through with piercing strength, manipulating a sonic wave through space with nothing but pulse and mind blowing intensity.
